The Activity Stream gives you an overview of student activity in all your courses. Clicking on an item in the Activity Stream takes you directly to that item in your course. No need to drill down into your course to access items like a graded discussion forum directly. Who doesn't love saving a few extra clicks!
Depending on how you assess your students in Blackboard, your activity stream may include:
- COD Blackboard system announcements.
- The latest student posts on your graded Discussion Boards. Note: You will not see posts for discussion forums that aren't graded. For example, if you don't assign points to your introductory discussion forum, you won't see these on the Activity Stream.
- Student submissions to Assignments, Tests, and other assessments that are ready to be graded.
- Reminders for items you've added to your personal Calendar in Blackboard.
The Activity Stream also allows you to Filter your view of the Activity Stream. You can choose to see all activities (the default view), Assignments and Tests, or Grades and Feedback.
You can customize the stream notifications you receive, where you receive them (in Blackboard, email, and mobile push notifications), and how frequently you receive emails from your Activity Stream by modifying your Blackboard Global Notification Settings.
The Activity Stream groups items into four different categories, so it's easier to review the list. The categories are:
Important: This category only applies to courses you are enrolled in as a student. It prompts you to address overdue assignments, tests, and graded discussions that need immediate attention.
Upcoming: This category includes the top five events that will happen in the next seven days.
Today: The category shows everything that is happening and due in the next 24 hours.
Recent: This category shows items that were in the Today section for the past seven days.
