To enable ProctorU for an exam in Blackboard you need to submit a request through the ProctorU website.
Exams should be submitted at least 2 weeks ahead of time to allow for processing and to give students time to schedule their exams.
- Go to https://go.proctoru.com/ and login.
- Click "Add New" and select "Exam"
- Course Name - this will be grayed out and will be filled in automatically based on the URL of your course.
- Exam Title - This should have your course name and the name of the exam.
- Department - this drop down menu is where you will pick the type of proctor service you want. If you are not sure which one to use, contact remotetesting@cod.edu for more information.
- Incident Users - An Incident User is another ProctorU user who will be notified of any incidents during the exam. For example, if you are co-teaching a course you might list the other instructor as an incident user. If you want to add an Incident User, click "Add User."
- Instructors - Click "Add Instructor" - your name should auto-populate. If it does not, type your name in or select it from the drop down menu.
- Term - this should auto-populate. If it does not, select the current term from the drop down menu.
- Duration - Enter the amount of time, in minutes, that students have to complete the exam.
- Exam URL - Enter the URL of the exam. To find this URL, log in to bb.cod.edu, then in the Courses menu open one of your courses. Copy that URL and paste it into the Exam URL field.
- Whitelisted URLs - These are webpages that students are allowed to visit during the exam.
- Exam Password - We strongly encourage that exams be password-protected. If your exam is password protected in Blackboard then enter the password here, then re-enter it in Exam password confirmation.
- Permitted Resources - Select the check box next to any resources (textbooks, note cards, calculators, etc) that students are allowed to use during the exam.
- Permitted Browsers - Select which browsers students can use (Note: This option is to provide a backup alternative in the event that the Guardian browser is not working. Learning Technologies suggests only using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to access Blackboard).
- Other Resources - If there are additional resources not listed above, enter those here.
- Expected No. of Test-Takers - Enter the expected number of test takers.
- Additional Exam Notes - If you have any other notes on taking the test that would be helpful to the proctors, enter that here.
- Notify on Schedule Emails - enter your e-mail to be notified when students schedule their tests.
- Contact Info for Exam Issues - You must provide contact information so that you can be reached if any issues arise during the test. You can provide details about your schedule if you do not want to be contacted at certain times.
- Windows - Provide at least one window of availability for students to take the test. You can create multiple windows if necessary.
- When you are all done, click Submit for Review.
