To enable ProctorU for an exam in Blackboard you need to submit a request through the ProctorU website.
Exams should be submitted at least 2 weeks ahead of time to allow for processing and to give students time to schedule their exams.
- Go to https://go.proctoru.com/ and login.
- Click "Add New" and select "Exam"
- Course Name will be grayed out - this will be filled in automatically based on the URL of your course.
- Your exam title should have your course name and the name of the exam.
- The Department drop down menu is where you will pick the type of proctor service you want. If you are not sure which one to use, contact the Testing Center for more information at remotetesting@cod.edu.
- Add Incident Users if needed. An Incident User is another ProctorU user who will be notified of any incidents during the exam. For example, if you are co-teaching a course you might list the other instructor as an incident user.
- Click "Add Instructor" - your name should auto-populate. If it does not, type your name in or select it from the drop down menu.
- The term should auto-populate. If it does not, select the current term from the drop down menu.
- Enter the amount of time, in minutes, that students have to complete the exam.
- Enter the URL of the exam. To find this URL, log in to bb.cod.edu, then in the Courses menu open one of your courses. Copy that URL and paste it into the Exam URL field.
- You may add Whitelisted URLs. These are webpages that students are allowed to visit during the exam.
- If your exam is password protected in Blackboard then enter the password here.
- Select the check box next to any resources (textbooks, note cards, calculators, etc) that students are allowed to use during the exam.
- Select which browsers students can use (Note: Learning Technologies suggests only using Chrome, Firefox, or Safari to access Blackboard).
- If there are additional resources not listed above, you can enter that in the "Other Resources" area.
- Enter the expected number of test takers.
- If you have any other notes on taking the test that would be helpful to the proctors, enter that here.
- You can enter your e-mail to be notified any time a student schedules their test.
- You must provide contact information so that you can be reached if any issues arise during the test. You can provide details about your schedule if you do not want to be contacted at certain times.
- Provide at least one window of availability for students to take the test. You can create multiple windows if necessary.
- When you are all done, click "Submit for Review."
