Your syllabus must be posted following these steps to ensure it is saved to the College U-drive (extracted), where it can be shared with other institutions for evaluation of course transfer.
Not sure what to include in your syllabus? Please refer to the linked Syllabus Template file.
Syllabus files must meet the following criteria in order to be extracted:
- In your Blackboard Ultra course, do NOT change the name of the Syllabus folder.
- The syllabus is saved as a Microsoft Word document (.docx) or .pdf file.
- The name of the file includes the word 'syllabus'.
- There is only one file in the "Syllabus" folder.
- You can use a Course Orientation/Getting Started learning module in your course to store other important introductory materials for your students.
To upload your syllabus in Blackboard:
- In your Ultra course in Blackboard on the Course Content page, locate the Syllabus folder. Click the syllabus folder to expand it.
- Click the plus sign.
- Select Upload from the menu.
- Select your syllabus file from your device.
- The "View and Download" option must be selected.
- Keep the display name the same as your file name ("FileName".docx) and do not remove the file extension (.docx or .pdf) in order for your syllabus to extract properly.
- Click Save.
- Change the uploaded syllabus from Hidden to Visible.
