Qwickly Attendance streamlines the process for instructors to monitor student attendance and record attendance and participation data in Blackboard. Qwickly seamlessly integrates with your Grade Center, and, with just a few clicks, allows you to create your attendance statuses, add private comments, and download the attendance record for your division. When students access the attendance tool, they can view a record of their attendance.
Taking Attendance
Once you have configured the Qwickly Attendance Settings for your intended use, you are ready to take attendance.
- In your Ultra course shell, click Books & Tools and scroll down to locate Qwickly Attendance LTI from the Available Tools list.
- Click Qwickly Attendance LTI to be taken to the tool
- On the next screen, click Attendance and choose 1 of the 3 ways you can take attendance:
- Check In - allows students to check in to your course via a unique PIN generated for students every time you take attendance. Students will enter the PIN into the tool from their device to check into class. For more information about using the Check In option for taking attendance, see the Using Check In Mode to Take Attendance article.
- List - displays the full class roster
- One By One -displays individual students
If an instructor wishes to enter the student attendance statuses, List or One By One should be selected.
- Determine the class session you are entering entering attendance data for.
- If entering attendance data for the current class session, leave Current Time selected
- If entering for a previous session, select Past Time and enter the date for which you wish to enter the data.
- Locate the student you wish to enter an attendance status for and click the desired status. The default statuses are Present, Absent, and Excused. Custom statuses can be created on the Settings page.
- You may also enter a comment in the attendance record for that session by clicking the Comment bubble for that student record.
- Once you have entered the statuses and comments for the student(s) you wish to enter them for, click Submit Attendance and your attendance data will be saved to the Records screen.
