There are several ways to add content to your course in Ultra course view. The Create Item panel allows you to create Learning Modules, Folders, Documents, Tests, Assignments, and more. In this article, we will explore accessing this menu in your course, and look at some options for building and organizing course content in more detail.
To access the Create Item panel, navigate to the course you wish to add content in and:
- On the course content page, click the plus sign (+) in the middle of the screen or open the folder of the area where you would like to add the content and then click the plus sign (+).
- Click Create to open the Create Item pane.
- The Create Item panel is separated into 3 sections: Course Content Items, Assessment, and Participation and Engagement. Each of these sections contains various content types:
- Content Items
- Learning Module - a learning module serves as a structured framework for organizing educational content, presenting it alongside a table of contents. Typically associated with specific subject areas, learning modules allow for the addition and management of various types of content, including text, attachments, web links, assessments, assignments, folders, and multimedia. collect
- Folder - creating folders and sub-folders within content areas allows you to effectively organize your files and content items and can simplify permission management for your content. If you need to permit specific users to access content items, grouping them within a single folder enables you to edit permissions for the entire folder rather than individual items.
- Document - a document can be as basic as a single line of text, an image, etc. You can create these with the content editor or upload files from your device or cloud storage.
- Link - the link option allows you to link either to web content outside your course, or course content (documents, assessments, files, folders, etc.) from other areas of your course.
- Assessment
- Test - Create a Test in Ultra Course View
- Assignment - Create an Assignment in Ultra Course View
- Form - Forms can be used to get feedback from your students. Forms can be used to learn about student interests and opinions and can be graded or ungraded assessments.
- Participation and Engagement
- Discussion - Discussions in Ultra Course View
- Journal - Journals serve as private channels for students to engage in one-on-one communication with you. Additionally, they offer students a platform for self-reflection, where they can express their thoughts, ideas, and course-related concerns, or analyze and discuss materials.
