Adding a Course Link to your course in Blackboard Ultra allows your student to easily navigate to different portions of the course without having to open multiple Learning Modules or Folders to search for the desired item. To add a Course Link to your course:
- Navigate to the location in your course where you want to add a link. You can add a link from the Course Content page, within a Learning Module, or within a folder. Note: You cannot add a Course Link from within a text field, such as within an Ultra document, from the Discussions page, or inside an Announcement.
- Click the plus sign above or below any item on the Course Content page.
- Click Create on the menu that appears.
- On the Create Item menu, click Link.
- Select Course Link.
- You can use the Keyword field to search for an item in the course, or select the category in which the item belongs, for example, Document, Assessments, File, etc.
- Once you have entered your search term or selected the category you want to view, click Search. Note that you may need to scroll down the Search Criteria menu to see the Search button.
- Click the radio button to select the item that you want to create a link to. Note: You can only select one item.
- Enter a display name if you want the link named something other than what is currently listed in the Display Name field.
- Enter a description, if desired.
- Click Save to create your course link.
Your Course Link will appear on your Course Content page in the location you selected. You can move the link to a different location in your course by clicking and dragging the six dots to the left of the link name, if desired.
Note that there's no need to create a link to the next sequential item in a Learning Module. In Student Preview Mode, you can see that students will have a Next and Previous button to move back and forth within the module.
