Starting Spring 2025, College of DuPage is using a new Alternative Formats tool in Blackboard called YuJa Panorama. It lets students convert course content into formats like PDFs, audio, ebooks, and translated versions.

What are Alternative Formats?

Alternative Formats, or "Alt Formats," allow you to download your course materials as different file formats that are optimized for your device and designed to meet your unique learning preferences. Popular formats include ebook, audio, translated versions, and PDFs. You can also upload content from your devices to download in the formats of your choosing.

Why are we switching to a new Alternative Formats tool?

We’re switching because the new tool offers more features, including over twice the number of Alt Format types, support for 30+ additional languages, and improved handling of math materials. It also includes a personal content library where you can create Alt Formats from your own uploaded files.

How do I access YuJa Panorama?

You need to add the browser extension to connect to the new service. Go to the Tools tab in Blackboard and select "YuJa Panorama" to get started. Training is available in the "Blackboard Student Support" Organization (new tab) in Blackboard > Topic 6: Engage with Course Content Your Way with Alt Formats.

Can I create Alt Formats on my phone?

To create Alt Formats on your mobile device, upload your files using either:

• Panorama DocHub (Blackboard > Tools > YuJa Panorama > DocHub), or
• Blackboard’s Ally File Transformer (Blackboard > Assist > Ally File Transformer).

Who do I contact if I need training or support?

• Panorama training is available in the "Blackboard Student Support" Organization (new tab) in Blackboard > Topic 6: Engage with Course Content Your Way with Alt Formats.
• YuJa provides 24-7 training and support is by toll-free phone at 1-888-257-2278. You can also open a Support Ticket (new tab) with YuJa online to receive support over email.
• For support during regular business hours, send a message to the Blackboard Student Support organization in Blackboard (new tab).
