Edit Points Possible in a Blackboard Assignment

When creating an Assignment in a Blackboard course, you will need to select the maximum points possible students can earn for the assessment. You can change the points possible at any time. Note that if you change the points possible after you have already graded student submissions, the student's score will be out of the new points possible. You may need to regrade the assignment if applicable.

1. On your course's Content page, navigate to the Assignment.
   
   
   
   
2. On the Assignment Settings menu, under the Grading heading, select the current maximum points. This will take you right to the Maximum points field.
   
   
   
   
3. Enter a new number to update the total points possible.
4. Select Save.
