Pop-up blockers prevent advertisements and other unwanted windows from appearing on your screen. However, they’ll also prevent Blackboard from opening important windows which may block you from taking tests, viewing announcements, and opening files and links. All popup blockers on your computer should be turned off before logging into Blackboard. If they aren't you may experience difficulties.
For more information on how to turn off your pop-up blockers, see the following information.
- Mozilla Firefox – Pop-up blocker settings, exceptions and troubleshooting
- If you block pop-ups, add http://bb.cod.edu as an "allowed site."
- Google Chrome – Block or allow pop-ups in Chrome
Additionally, if you are using anti-virus, internet security, or personal firewall software to control or eliminate pop-up windows, those applications can interfere with Blackboard. If you continue to have difficulties, contact the Help Desk at (630) 942-4357.
