Pools allow for greater variations of your course tests. Instead of creating 10 questions for all students to answer, you can create a pool of 20 possible questions. Then, from the pool, Blackboard can randomly select 10 questions when students access the test. This will differentiate the test for every student in the class.
- Navigate to the Course Management menu. Click Course Tools and then select Tests, Surveys, and Pools.
- Then select Tests.
- On the Tests page, click Build Test.
- Enter a test name and any optional descriptions and instructions. Then click Submit.
- Questions can now be created on the Test Canvas page using the pool questions.
- Highlight Reuse Questions and click Create Questions Set.
- Question pools, as well as questions from previous tests, can be found in the Browse Criteria side menu.
- Select the pools, tests, or individual questions to be included in the question set. Click Submit.
- The Question Set will display on the test canvas.
- Total questions indicates the number of possible questions for the test.
- Number of Questions to Display is the number of questions for the test. The test will randomly select this many questions from the total question set.
- The amount of points each question is worth can also be changed in the Points per questions box.
