To allow student access to Blackboard's tools, add Tool Links to your Course Menu. Frequently used Tool Links include: My Grades, Discussion Board, and Qwickly Attendance.
Follow these steps to add a Tool Link to your Course Menu:
- Select the Plus Sign at the top of your Course Menu.
- Select Tool Link.
- Important! In the Type contextual menu chevron, choose the specific tool you want to create a link to (My Grades in this instance).
- In the Name field, type the name of the link as you want it displayed on the Course Menu. Note: Many faculty choose to name the link the same as the name of the tool.
- Select Available to Users. By default, students cannot see the link you are creating, and will not be able to access the tool in Blackboard. You must ensure the Available to Users checkbox is checked to allow students to access the tool.
- Click Submit
The Tool Link is added to the bottom of the Course Menu. To reoder the link, either select the double-headed arrow to the left of the Tool Link, or select the Keyboard Accessible Reordering Tool at the top of the Course Menu.
