Error - 404 - File or directory not found

Users of the Microsoft Edge browser may run into an issue when accessing links to Microsoft Office files, such as Word and PowerPoint, while on Blackboard and other websites. The following system error may display:

The main resolution to the error is to use the recommended Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers.

If you would still like to use Edge, you can deactivate a setting that prevents Edge from opening Office files within the browser.

1. Open Microsoft Edge
2. Click the ... Settings and more button in the upper right corner of the browser
3. Select Settings from the menu
4. Select Downloads
5. On the Downloads screen, turn off the setting for Open Office files in the browser
   
   
   
   
6. Office files will now download to the computer instead of trying to be opened in the browser window.
