In Blackboard Original courses, instructors may use Bb Annotate for inline grading of assignments. Bb Annotate provides a comprehensive set of features for giving personalized feedback to students, including a sidebar summary view, freehand drawing tools, multiple color options, and many other features.
- Sidebar - Allows users to toggle between Thumbnail, Outline, and Annotation views
- Pages - If the submission is multiple pages long, instructors can navigate to each page from here
- Pan - Click and drag to move the submission on the page
- Zoom & Fit - Controls the zoom in/zoom out functionality of the tool, and allows users to adjust the submission to fit the page, width, or best fit
- Annotation Tools - Sselect from the Drawing, Brush, and Eraser tools which enable instructors to draw freehand with various colors, thickness, and opacity. The eraser can remove part or all of a drawing.
- Image and Stamp - Choose a preloaded stamp or create your own customized stamp or image from this icon.
- Undo/Redo - Undo or repeat the last action
- Text - Add text directly to the submission and change font, size, color, and alignment of the text.
- Shapes - Choose arrow, line, ellipse, rectangle, polygon, and polyline and customize the color, width, opacity, etc. of your choice.
- Comment - Add a panel in which to provide feedback.
- Print or Download - print or download the submission with the annotations included.
- Search - Search for specific text throughout the submission
- Content Library - Develop a repository of reusable comments. You can add, edit, delete, and search through the library. Additionally, you can add a comment directly to the submission page via the menu. Click the plus sign to add a new comment to the Content Library. Options include placing a comment, copying it to the clipboard, editing, or deleting content from the library. Use keywords or phrases to search for saved comments.
