When assessments are added to a Blackboard Ultra course using any of Blackboard's assessment tools (assignments, tests, graded discussions, graded journals) a column in the Gradebook is automatically created. The new column will appear at the end of the list of columns in the Gradebook's Grades view. You may find that the order the columns have been added to the Gradebook does not meet the needs of you or your students. You can reorder the columns in the Gradebook, using the Gradable Items view.
- Navigate to the Gradebook in your Blackboard Ultra course.
- Select the Gradable Items tab near the top of the Gradebook.
- Each assessment in the Gradebook will have its own line. The assessments organized from top to bottom in the Gradable Items view will be organized from left to right in the Grades view.
- Note: The assessment columns in the Grades view appear as Rows in the Gradable Items view. We'll use the term "column" in either view. To reorder an assessment column, select the two arrow icon (one arrow pointing up, one pointing down) towards the right side of the page. Hold down your mouse button and drag the assessment to the location you want (which order you want the assessments to appear in the Grades view).
Alternatively, you can click towards the top of your screen and press Tab on your keyboard. Press Tab until the arrow pointing up and down of the assessment column you want to move is selected.
Click Enter on your keyboard, then use the arrows on your keyboard to move the assessment up or down the list. Once your assessment is in the desired location, click Enter again to save the location. - The new location will be bordered in purple or blue. Release your mouse pointer when your assessment column is in the location you want it to appear in the list.
- You can then return to the Grades view to see the reordered assessment columns.
